FRIDAY FAVORITES: CLEANING

in , by Gavin and Kylie Plus 4, 4:25 AM

There are a lot of things that I have had to "let go" of a bit or delegate in this season of life.  Cleaning is one of those areas and I am not ashamed to admit that we have someone come in and clean the main level of our house every other week.  With that being said, we still have four small children, two large dogs, and we spend a lot of time in our house.  I still clean parts of our house every single day and still never really feel caught up.  So today, I have rounded up my FAVORITE cleaning products and tools and am linking up with Andrea and Erika for FRIDAY FAVORITES!

  1. Probably the most used item in our house is our Dyson Stick!  So much so that we are going to upgrade to the newest model and move our old one to our camper for the summer.  It still works fairly decent and holds a great battery charge, but it definitely is showing some wear and tear.  We use this bad boy numerous times a day and in every room of our house.  I can *almost* get to every room in our house before it dies...if I am moving quickly!  It is also light enough that our kids can use it and vacuuming the kitchen has now become one of their nightly chores.   I seriously can't suggest one enough.  I know it is a bit of a splurge but it is worth every penny.  Just hit "Buy Now" and thank me later. ;-)
  2. The Bissel Crosswave is my newest obsession and has been such a great addition!  It vacuums and mops all at once which is life saver.  A good chunk of our main level is hardwood and tile, and our entire basement, minus bedrooms, is LVP.  I use it at least one a week, and my favorite part is that you can put what ever cleaning solution in it that you'd like.  For our tile and LVP, I use Thieves cleaner and love that I can ditch some chemicals.  And for our hardwood, I use the cleaner that is required.  The one downfall of this bad boy is cleaning everything up at the end, but the fact that I don't have to vacuum and then mop is a huge advantage!
  3. The Bissel Steamshot may be the most gratifying cleaner that I have ever used.  We have ceramic tile in our garage entry, main level bathrooms, and our master shower, and while I didn't know the grout was terribly dirty--HOLY MOLY!  This bad boy offers instant gratification without a whole lot of effort.  It comes with various attachments, and I have steam cleaned LOTS and LOTS of surfaces and items in our house now.  This is another item in which you should just hit "BUY NOW".  It's only $30!
  4. I ordered this Shark vacuum on Black Friday last year when our central vacuum broke for the second time and it was going to be several months before they could get the replacement parts.  We not have our central vac fixed, but I still use this one instead.  I feel like it does a better job actually and isn't quite as big of a hassle.  For $150, it does a great job AND leaves great vacuum lines. :-)
  5. One of my biggest pet peeves is wash clothes and dish/hand towels that smell the instant that they get wet.  These wash cloths and dish towels are one of my favorite finds and do a great job of wiping down surfaces without leaving streaks and have washed really well.
  6. I have been on a mission to ditch and switch to cleaner products and I am positive that Dawn dish soap isn't great.  BUTTTTTTTT Dawn Power Wash can cut through grease and grime that nothing else can touch, and I haven't found anything that compares.  I even use it on clothes and snow pants that are covered in grease or mud.

  1. Dawn will make
Dish towels stink. Palmolive will not. We used for cleaning tough things but mostly use Palmolive everyday
