Weekend Recap

in , by Gavin and Kylie Plus 4, 4:00 AM
This will be rather short and sweet!  Not because we didn't have a busy weekend, but because it involved a sick kid and a farming husband.  Therefore, I apparently didn't take many pictures!
Poor buddy wanted to be outside soo badly but his eyes couldn't lie that he didn't feel well.
I am SOOOO over this winter/spring weather swings and the sickness that has come with it.  I got the text from daycare around 1 on Friday letting me know that Treyton had a 102 degree fever and couldn't stop coughing.   Because he had pneumonia only three weeks ago, I called our pediatrician and they had us come in to check it out.  A finger prick and chest x-ray later, they think he has a virus.  (Which must be true, because several others at daycare also have it, including Trnylee.) We did take advantage of the nice weather that evening though.
Saturday morning included a bridal shower in town and Gavin heading to the farm bright and early.  Since it hasn't stopped raining and with rain in the forecast, they're starting to feel the pinch.  My mom came to watch our kiddos due to having a sick one, and taking all three of them to a bridal shower on my own sounds kind of painful. #nopictures

Treyton ended up going with my mom to the farm so he could ride in the tractor a bit.  The girls and I may have snagged a nap and then headed to a Cinco Day Mayo get together.  It was bizarre to only have the girls with me, although I still don't feel like I ever got to sit down.  Treyton wanted to go to bed at my parents and then come home with Gavin, but him and my mom showed up back at home around 9:00 because he wanted his mom. #mamasboy #onlywhenhessick
Gavin rolled into the garage shortly after 1 and was back out the door around 7 Sunday morning.  Due to a returning fever, my mom came back and kept our kids, (Seriously, can't explain how blessed we are!) so that I could make it to our nephew's baptism.
Sunday afternoon called for lonnngg naps from all of our kiddos and then the rain came which brought Gavin home from the farm.  We grilled up some steaks and called it quits super early!
I'll be back tomorrow with a "Let's Talk" post!  Have a great Tuesday!

Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday, Friends!  I can't say that this is really going to be a "Top 10" as I didn't take a ton of pictures apparently. It was a rainy, snowy, windy weekend at the end of April which kept Gavin home from the farm.  It was a nice little break of solo parenting but I'm also ready for him to just get it all done!
While Trynlee is a fairly clean eater, Taylor is NOT!  She also has grown accustomed to feeding Mya anything that she doesn't want.  On this particular night, she just let Mya eat right off of her fork.  Taylor is soooo funny, guys!  I wish I could bottle up her cheesy little grins and laughs.

We ate up every second of the nice weather Friday night before the winter storm rolled in.
The girls really like the sidewalk chalk.
We just hung out in the driveway and colored while Treyton played basketball with Jamison and Payton.  Gavin was supposed to be home early but ended up getting hung up at the farm for a while.
He's working hard on learning how to dribble!
They were filthy but oh so happy!

It snowed/sleeted/rain ALL day on Saturday so we had a really low key day!  We started it off with pancakes and then didn't do much of anything!
The girls have learned how to get up on our fireplace, and this was the grin I got from Taylor after telling her to get down for the 800th time that morning.
Someone ALWAYS gets hurt in these wrestling matches but the girls won't ever back down from a good pig pile.
Treyton and I ran into town quick to get him some new tennis shoes that he could put on by himself.  He really wanted tie shoes for Christmas but he needed some he could easily get on and off.  We may or may not have came home with a pair of Crocs as well.  Gavin wasn't overly impressed to say the least.

Sunday was also really low key and while Gavin went to the farm, the rest of us may have taken a three hour nap.  It felt soooo good!

Mya spends most of her time outside now because she likes to swim in our pond and drag dead animals into our front yard to chew on.  But when she is inside, she loves to get all the snuggles she can.
I finally got all of the Easter stuff put away....other than the eggs.  All three of our kids have LOVED playin with them, and Trynlee is slightly obsessed.  She likes to just climb on in and throw them all out and then proceeds to put them all back in.

That's all I've got!  Have a great day, and I'll be back tomorrow for my goal for the month of MAY!

Weekend Recap

We started the weekend off strong at a fish fry hosted by some of our friends.
Only in Iowa do all of your friends have large shops or garages that you congregate in.  And we enjoy every minute of it.
There were several dozen kids running around, and we all brought bikes, scooters, and other wheeled toys.  Our girls were the youngest and considering they don't walk in straight lines, I was a tad worried they were going to get taken out by some of the bigger kids.
It's all fun and games until you both want the lawn mower.
Grandma Linda and Grandpa Brad stopped over.  Treyton put on his pads for a mean game of catch.
The girls stacked everything in sight.
We swung over to watch Camryn get ready for prom.
And made a mess as we hung out.
I foresee this donut truck landing at our house some day after Lyvia outgrows it.  I can also see Taylor getting herself stuck in it.
Ty is 9 years older than Treyton but does such a good job of playing with him.  Treyton talked about riding his own motorcycle the whole way home.
The best weekends are the ones that include big ol' family naps!
While we waited for Gavin to get home and for Treyton to wake up, they tried on about every pair of shoes they could find.  They're obsessed!
They also found it hilarious to jab me with this sword and belly laughed when I fell over!  I wish that I could bottle up their giggles to keep with me forever.
We are SOOOOO ready for summer!
The girls are really getting the hang of riding or pushing bikes and love to be outside.
Treyton is really close to ditching his training wheels!
Gavin and I were cold and ready to go in, but Taylor continued to ignore us and continued throwing every small rock she could find off of the cement.
Gavin and I tagged in and out the second he got home so that I could run up to the high school for the grand march.  I snagged some pictures of our favorites to show to Treyton.
He flipped back and forth through their pictures asking who the boys were.  I think he might have been a smidgen jealous.
Such a beauty!!
I ran to Old Navy Sunday morning to attempt to put together some outfits for some upcoming family pictures.  Our local Old Navy continues to let me down and never has what I see online.  :(  I would typically just order online but the girls are in between sizes right now and I didn't want them to be swimming in clothes for pictures.  After some digging, I was able to come up with these options.  My legs are likely way to pale to wear a dress, but the sale was just too good.
Nana and Papa came over to help Gavin plant some trees and let me run to Old Navy.  The show trying on continued.
The girls weren't overly happy that everyone was outside without them so we played on the deck for bit.  They love this slide just as much as Treyton did.  Good work, Santa!
There are two ways to go down the slide apparently.  Tryn just steps off the top and Taylor takes the safer route on her belly.
Such a ham!
I like this option so much better!
And last but certainly not least!  We had all the troops out to help plant trees!
He was out there with them from 10-6 and loved every minute of it!
I am not sure who loved this day more--my dad or Treyton.
He was bound and determined to lift this sledge hammer for my dad.
Such a good weekend and looking forward to the good weather this week.  We've officially picked up another sick bug though and Treyton is fighting off a fever as we speak.  I'm really close to packing up and moving south.  Come on, Mother Nature, help me out--I beg you!!!
