WHAT'S UP WEDNESDAY

in , by Gavin and Kylie Plus 4, 4:25 AM

Attempting to get back into the swing of things around here because it is something that I really enjoy.  I love writing, I love sharing what's going on in our circus, and I love creating a "baby book" for my kiddos.  Because let's be real, the actual book never even got bought, let alone filled out.  I feel like our spring is really starting to ramp up and I can feel the excitement of summer creeping in.  Now I just need some nice weather to show up and actually stick around.

I am linking up with Sheaffer Told Me To and Mix and Match Mama so make sure you go and check out their posts as well!

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

I use my Simple Purposeful Living Meal Planner each week to plan out what we're going to eat.  I try to stick to the meals we have planned each week but being pregnant has left me reaching for easy options a lot of nights when I am tired!  Here is what we have planned for this week!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Last summer!  It just makes me so excited about this summer!  The nice weather, the slower pace, camping and boating at the river, playing at our pond.  The list could go on but I just feel like I generally thrive in summer!

Muffins with Moms!  I got to got o the girls' classroom last week and do a couple of activities with them.  Grandma Carol joined us and I just love seeing them in their element.  They love school and were so excited to show us some of their stuff.  I never got tot do it with Treyton due to the pandemic so I was excited that this finally happened.

3: WHAT I’M LOVING:

This phase of life!  Is that cheesy?!  Yes, it is HARD!  Yes, it is tiring!  Yes, our hands our full!  But guys, I wish you could see my heart!  Our kids are at really fun ages!  Treyton is at the cusp of being a big kid and while it is bitter sweet, it is so much fun!  He is starting to play sports and make friends and be a bit more responsible.  Our girls are in the thick of playing babies and coloring and just all things "little girl".  They really are best friends and I love watching and hearing them play.  And then there is Trigg!  He is just too funny--which totally backfires when you're trying to discipline him, but gosh, he can make you laugh.  18 months-2 years might be one of my favorite ages.

4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We've been trying to enjoy every second of nice weather that we have gotten.  It has been a bit very spotty, so when it is cold, windy, and/or rainy, my kids have been obsessed with "little Legos."  They have migrated to just about every room in our house and made a ginormous mess, but their imaginations are on fire right now and I love it.

Treyton also started little sluggers this week.  They have a whopping three practices and then the chaos of games begins.

5: WHAT I’M DREADING:

The spring planting season and busy work life! Ya, I said it.  I absolutely love being a part of the farm, but that doesn't mean that it isn't hard.  Our kids LOVE their dad, as do I, and him being gone A LOT can make the days really long.  It just so happens that Gavin's busiest season of work is also crunch time in the field and when school activities are really busy towards the end of the year.  It's all good things!  Just all good things at one time which can be a bit overwhelming.

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Getting ready to have Baby #5!  We have officially moved Trigg in with Treyton and developed a fairly decent routine with that.  So now it is just making sure we have everything for the baby.  I'm sure you're thinking--this is your 5th child, Kylie!  I'm sure you already have it.  Well, I did at one point.  But I got rid of basically EVERYTHING.  So I am just working on rounding up the essentials without much else, and making sure I have things for labor, delivery and those first few weeks of postpartum life.

7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

Summmerrrr!  Gosh, I just can't wait for warm, sunny weather.  I can't wait for my kids to be home, and we can eat breakfast on the deck and play in our back yard without having to rush out the door each morning.  Summer also means only a couple of weeks before the baby!

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

I just finished up watching "The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On" on Netflix!  Guys!  I have never wanted to crawl in a hole for the cast more that I wanted to on this show.  It was cringy!  But the type of cringy that you can't look away from.  So much so that I finished all 10 episodes in two days.  I had to see how it all turned out.  In a nut shell, there are seven couples in which one partner has given the other an ultimatum: to get engaged or split.  Except Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the hosts, throw some major drama into their relationships, and make them trial an engagement with someone else on the show for three weeks before getting back together with their original partner for three weeks.  At the end, they have to either get engaged or split forever.  As you can imagine, the whole dating someone else for three weeks stirs up lots of issues.

I am currently reading The Guest List by Lucy Foley.  I can't give you much of a recap because I just got started!  Lol!  I need to get it done before our next book club gathering though!  Speaking of a book club!  You should gather a group of your friends and start one.  We simply get recommendations from other people, Reese Witherspoon's book club list, or by simple Google searches, and then read one book a month!  Our monthly meet up is probably 25% talking about the book and 75% just hanging out and talking about life, but it is nice to have a scheduled time to make it a priority.

9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

Life 101.9 turns on every morning at sunrise on our Echo Show and plays throughout the day.  I also am currently listening to a Couple Things podcast episode by Andrew and Shawn Johnson.

10: WHAT I’M WEARING:

Boy! If this isn't a tricky question!  I am currently wearing one of the 2 pairs of leggings that I own that fit me, a tank top that barely covers my belly, and a cardigan.  I was fortunate to have a friend lend me some maternity clothes and I have only bought a couple of other things to make it to the end of June. If you see me looking a little ratchet by mid June, just know it is because I have no clothes that actually fit.  I did buy myself another pair of Blanqi maternity leggings this time around and they are worth every penny.  If they are clean, I am wearing them.

I also really like Old Navy's maternity activewear line.  I did grab a couple of pieces this winter and then again this past week because that's basically all I wear if I am at home.

11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

We don't have any big plans this weekend but planting season is really gearing up so I am sure that Gavin will be gone most of the time.  The kids and myself will likely make our way out to the farm at some point to see him and take him some food.  Treyton also has his second little sluggers practice, and the girls have one of their last dance classes.

12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Our kiddos only have a couple of weeks left of school so that means preschool and kindergarten graduations and then CAMPING!!  Gosh, I'm so excited to get our camper up and start spending time at the river!

13: FAVORITE AMAZON FIND:

If you missed my Friday Favorites last week!  Check them out because they're currently all of my favorite Amazon finds.  I love a clean house and I feel like I have finally hit the sweet spot of having all of the right gadgets to get the job done effectively.

DYSON STICK  |  CROSSWAVE  |  STEAMSHOT  |  SHARK VACUUM  |  WASH CLOTHS  | POWER WASH

I also am rounding up and posting some labor and delivery essentials soon so stay tuned if you're in that phase of life as well!

  3. I love seeing my kids' imaginations come to life. I don't get as many glimpses now that they're older so those moments become even more precious.
