Treyton Lee is F I V E!! I say it every year and I am sure I will say it for years to come--I just don't know how he is so big. I remember the day he was born like yesterday! His birthday falls in the sweet spot of summer and he was excited to have his family and friends over to play at the pond.

Treyton Lee is F I V E!! I say it every year and I am sure I will say it for years to come--I just don't know how he is so big. I remember the day he was born like yesterday! His birthday falls in the sweet spot of summer and he was excited to have his family and friends over to play at the pond.
Just a little photo dump from February 2020!
It's still crazy to think back to what normal life used to be like and I pray that we are getting closer to getting back to that. Back to my kids not feeling anxious being around their own family members, back to when it was normal to SEE peoples' faces, and when we all didn't second guess every decision we made!
If you have missed my last couple of flashback posts, I am attempting to get my blog caught up from taking a lot of the year off. I use this a my kids baby books so I am trying to keep things in order for that reason. It is fun to look back at these pictures too and see just how much my kids have grown in 10 months.
We started off December of 2019 strong!! We decorated our whole house and Christmas the Elf showed up on December 1st with our North Pole breakfast. He actually just showed up yesterday and as I am looking at pictures, I noticed that Treyton had those yellow football pants on in both....December 1st, 2019 and December 1st, 2020! Hah!!
Eeeek!!!
In November, we shared with our family and friends that we are SOOO excited (and maybe a little bit crazy) to be welcoming Baby Steege # 4 into our family in May!
We let Treyton call all of his grandparents, family, and closest friends and let them know!
We had some family pictures taken to help spread the news as well. Beth captured all of these pictures in less than 10 minutes, 20 feet from our garage, with the combine parked 6 rows over!
For the last 3 years, right around harvest, we have headed to Chicago to visit an amazing pumpkin patch and apple orchard. We stay with my bestie, Jenna's, parents and spend the day at Kuiper's.
Gavin was in the field this year after a very wet harvest so it ended up being a mom and kiddo trip! Lots of driving but so much fun!
We've had lots of "I'm not sure how this happened so fast!" moments in the last month! On Wednesday we had another one!
Treyton' headed off to his first day of 4 year old preschool.
The day before he went, he woke up crying that he didn't want to go and this continued for like an hour. I immediately became super nervous for the next day and felt like it was going to be a disaster.
Tuesday night we had his first homework assignment of decorating a letter T. We could have done any thing--color, paint, glue things on it. We talked about things that started with T and he decided he wanted to make it look like a tree.
Much to my surprise, he woke up excited and ready to go Wednesday morning and was just super excited.
Before we left home we took some pictures and he was being a total goof!
The drop off at daycare went really well too and then they took him to preschool at 8:30...which also went smoothly. I was a nervous wreck but when I got pictures and a text saying he was all smiles, it put my heart at ease.
He's headed back today and is excited about it!

Treyton turned F O U R!
And I think he told everyone he came within yelling distance of! He was just so super excited!
I know it is super cliche to say---but HOW? How is my baby 4? I feel like the night I went into labor with him was yesterday and can remember just about every detail from the day that he was born.
All 6lb 10oz of him!
But now he is asking how our septic system works, wants to walk to the shop by himself, would love to work for his dad, and is riding his bike completely on his own.
He spent the day before his actual birthday having a party at daycare. They once again knocked it out of the park and made all of his digger-loving-dreams come true.
We kept the adrenaline high going strong and had his family birthday party that night. I'm not sure who slipped him a caffeine IV drip throughout the day, but holy cow!
When Jamison and Payton lived with us, they had a waffle maker that we used regularly, and since they moved out, Treyton frequently asked why we couldn't make waffles. A waffle maker made for the perfect, and practical, 4th birthday present. The present wouldn't be complete without a bag of chocolate chips!
We started his birthday off strong with chocolate chip waffles!
And matching outfits with dad. All of his dreams came true when Gavin asked him to help pour concrete ON HIS BIRTHDAY! I mean, doesn't that sound like fun?

Oh Treyton Lee! We love you to the moon and back and are so proud of all of the new things you are learning. We hope that you continue to be as inquisitive and persistent as you currently are, because while it currently drives us a bit crazy, we know it will take you far in life!

We have school off tomorrow for Good Friday so today is a good day!
I had grand intentions of having 5 posts up this week and actually have most of the started or almost completely done. I really just needed to take some pictures and get them uploaded--which is kind of painful with our turtle speed internet.
BUT!
Treyton woke up Sunday night with a high fever and a terrible cough. Tylenol and/or Motrin really weren't touching it so he has been miserable! I figured it was just viral due to other kids at daycare having similar symptoms and finding out it was a virus at the doctors.
A 102 temp though was taking its toll on him and my mother-in-law, who was watching him on Tuesday, texted to let me know his fever just kept climbing. After a call into our pediatrician, we went right in, ended up with some chest x-rays, and he landed himself with a pneumonia diagnosis.
After several round of antibiotics, he has been fever free for a day now and heading in the right direction.
Taylor also has a double ear infection. Both girls also have a junky sounding cough. So after some
breathing treatments, and zero sleep for us, we are limping into the weekend!
I'm hoping to get a Friday Favorites post up tomorrow but that's not 100%. I'll for sure be back on Monday with a recap of our Easter weekend!

DISNEYLAND!!!
We started our morning off early and left our house by 6:30 so that we could make it there, get parked, and to Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast with the characters. If you had asked Treyton before our trip what we were going to be doing, we would have told you we were going to eat breakfast with Goofy. He was sooooo excited! In fact, he thought Goofy lived with Kolton and Emmy for quite some time prior to our trip.
It took us about an hour and a half to get there and then parking became a real big struggle. Next time, I will plan out where we are going to park as well. We lost Kolton in traffic so we were both trying to find the same spot. Needless to say, our 20 minutes to get parked and to Goofy's kitchen turned into 5 minutes and I power walked with a double stroller a mile and a half to get there with only a couple of minutes to spare before they let our reservation go. Ooofta! I was panicking that Treyton wasn't going to get to do the one thing he was most excited bout.
Breakfast went great! Treyton actually got close to the characters, and I got the chance to stop sweating from my unplanned workout!
When Uncle Kolt and Emmy take you to the breakfast buffet, you come back with an ice cream cone. It was vacation, right?!
After breakfast, we made the quick walk through Downtown Disney and into the park! And holy moly, the sea of strollers was unbelievable! If nothing else, my faith in humanity was restored a bit as we left our stroller completely packed with our belongings in stroller parking at every ride throughout the day and came back to everything still there.
Guys! Disney, plain and simple, has things figured out! They know how to get people in line effectively. It's clean. The "cast members" aka workers know the ins and outs of everything. And it was super clean!
My one piece of advice--get the FAST PASS! It is worth every stinking penny! We were able to ride double the amount of rides and the wait times were manageable with three little kids only because we all had fast passes. Almost every ride had two lines--the standby lane and the fast pass lane. The fast pass lane moved remarkably faster. Emmy was a pro at securing us fast passes as quickly as she could and knew what rides Treyton would be able to ride. It was all done through their app and we were able to link our group in our apps so that she could get all of us a fast pass for the same ride. It only allows you to have a fast pass for one ride at a time and will only allow you to get one every so often, so you have to check back in on your phone throughout the day. It was slick and easy to use.
Treyton's favorite ride by far was Buzz Lightyears. He could have rode it all day and was disappointed he was able to ride it two times in a row like at Six Flags. We were able to ride it 3 or 4 different times though with Fast Passes. You ride in a cart and had a gun to shoot at targets throughout the ride. My brother and Emmy have even researched how to get the most points on the ride. They are slightly competitive.
We attempted to buy him several different things throughout the day, and the whole time the only thing he wanted was a skidloader. #notshocking After riding the Buzz ride several times though, he did finally want a Buzz arm. It can grab and spin and we has played with it nonstop since he got it.

The girls took some decent stroller naps while we continued to ride some rides so we just traded off who stayed with them and who went on the ride.
Experiencing Disney with a 3 year old was truly magical. No, he wasn't old enough or tall enough to do a lot of things, but he was just so excited about everything he did get to do. We would be standing in line for something, and he would whisper to Gavin and I that he loved us.
Gosh I love this little boy so much!
We had such a fun day! I am excited to go to Disney World and/or possibly a Disney cruise in the future when they are all a bit older as well! I remember it from when I was younger and I know they will love that just as much.
