A Day in the Life--Weekend Edition

in , by Gavin and Kylie Plus 4, 4:30 AM
We had a fairly busy weekend and since our internet is so painfully slow, my computer is still working on uploading all of the pictures.  A recap of our weekend will be coming tomorrow!!

I did however do my best at taking pictures all day on Saturday and actually did a fairly decent job!

Both of our girls have colds right now and when we got home from a get together with friends Friday night, Tryn's breathing seemed a little heavy.  I stuck her Owlet on her and checked on it several times throughout the night.  Her oxygen stayed good and looked wonderful by morning!
I started off my picture taking on the struggle bus.  I couldn't for the life of me get a screen shot of the time without the unlock screen coming up.  This was the best I got.  I felt like it was worth documenting because I am not sure our kids have ever slept until 6:45 on the same morning.  It was heavenly!
The girls were ready for breakfast so we headed right out to their seats.
Tay's hair was also worth documenting on this Saturday morning.  Must have gotten some good sleep!
Gavin was heading to the farm to dig up and replant some trees.
Treyton was not thrilled that he wasn't getting to go along and drug out his goodbye with about 187 stall tactics.
Saturday morning almost always means pancakes!
While I got the kitchen cleaned up, they all played in the living room.  They shot some hoops, read some books, and played with their play kitchen.
We migrated into our closet so I could do some laundry.  My least favorite activity of all time!
We all got out of our pajamas and got out every toy with lots of parts.
Grandpa Brad and Grandma Linda stopped over, and Treyton had to put on his football pads to play some catch.  I'm not really sure what is happening in this picture but Brad's face is priceless. ;-)
More catch!
The girls are really into stacking things currently and got Grandpa Brad in on the action.
It was prom in town so we headed out to see our favorite, Cami, get dolled up.  I snagged some coffee from the coffee truck on the way.
Camryn was three when I started babysitting for them.  She is now 16, watches our kids, and was off to her first prom. #ifeltreallyold
The girls and I were really helpful with her hair.  Or offered moral support and sat on the floor and made a mess.
We actually made 2 coffee stops on the way to their house because Treyton HAD to have a smoothy and the coffee truck didn't have any.  He got distracted once we got there and the girls drank it instead.
We ate a quick lunch with them before Cam got started on her makeup and getting her dress on.
Taylor made a huge mess.  Oofta!
The girls LOVED Lyvia's donut truck, and Taylor was bound and determined to get in there.  Spoiler: she never did!  It ended with Trynlee in a melt down on the floor because I took some small pieces away from her.
On our way out, Tay tried on Uncle Todd's boots.   They're OBSESSED with shoes currently.
Treyton had been playing with Lyvia or outside with Ty this whole time.  He was in heaven when he got to play with legos and dig in the sandbox with Ty.
The girls fell asleep on the way home and Treyton wanted his back rubbed before he went in to take a nap as well.  I may not have moved from this spot while they all napped.
Mya posted up in front of the window to bark at the geese on the pond. Grr!  She earned herself a spot in the garage during nap time.
Up from nap and ready for a snack.  She wanted a Clif bar and stayed super clean.
Taylor on the other hand wanted yogurt and was a disaster!  Treyton took a super long nap so we just hung out and waited for him to wake up.

It was fairly cold out but the girls kept standing at the door wanting to go outside, so we bundled up and went out to wait for Gavin to get home.  I'm fairly certain they would have stayed outside for the whole night if we would have let them.  I snuck in though to get steaks on the grill and mash potatoes started.
I scarfed down some food to head to the grand march to see this beauty and her date!  So fun to see all of the pretty dresses!
Still can't quite figure out how she is old enough to be at prom or how she's taller than me!
When I got home, the girls were in bed and Treyton and Gavin were heading that direction as well.

We're so super exciting and were in bed by 9:00 on a Saturday night.  I call that perfection!!

I hope you have a great Monday!  I will be back tomorrow with a full weekend recap.

I'm linking up today with Andrea at Momfessionals and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything
for...
Today's Friday Favorites is all about Valentine's Day!  If you followed along yesterday on Instagram or Facebook, you know I attempted to share my day in my stories by posting a picture roughly every hour.  I did a fairly decent job--other than the parts of the day that I had students!

Grab your coffee (or my favorite, Spark) and read on!

I am a morning person through and through!  While some may find those alarms painful, I really enjoy getting up and getting my day going.

I also really love to workout.  It's really my only "me" time of the day, and I just enjoy an intense workout.  Pre-kids, Gavin and I both did group fitness classes at the same time and loved it.  When we built our house, we invested in some decent workout equipment and really enjoy getting to just walk downstairs to workout.  Since we live a bit out of town, heading to the gym is quite a time investment with littles.  I am currently completing my third round of the Liift4 program on Beachbody On Demand and have really liked it.
All of our kids tend to spend some time in our bathroom/closet in the mornings.  Treyton's FAVORITE blue blankey is one I received at a baby shower 2 days before I had him, and it's with him whenever he's tired.
We got him random assortment of coloring and Target dollar spot finds.  He was simply excited he had a present waiting for him at breakfast.
One of my least favorite times of the day is the rush to get out of the door.  It doesn't matter what time I get up, I am always running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  Our goal is to be out the door by 7:00.  I'd say we're out the door by 7:10 most days....  These high chairs, however, are one of my ultimate favorite baby items!  They don't take up any room and are easy to clean.
This coffee truck parks in a parking lot every morning and it was our first "drive thru" coffee spot in town!  Game changer!  We made a pit stop for our favorite day care providers for a little Valentine morning energy boost!
I got to my classroom and got everything ready for the morning!  If you look closely, you can see my front counter is covered in Valentines and snacks.  Holiday parties really aren't my favorite thing about teaching.  #chaos
My students come in at 8:20, and on Thursdays have specials for an hour right away in the morning.  One little guy brought me a rose and it was quite possibly the sweetest thing ever!
Planbook.com is one of my absolute favorite planning tools!  This is how I keep all of my lesson plans--all online!  I attempt to lay out the entire next week during this block each week.
We had a little Valentine's Day brunch and this is probably my favorite style of party.  They were so excited to pass their things out right away.
Our secretary delivered these right after lunch and I was beyond shocked!  The roses were gorgeous!
I received this picture from daycare at the end of the day and my heart melted into a puddle!  I cannot explain how blessed we are to have such great daycare providers that love on our kids as if they are their own.  And they do crazy fun things like photo booths, heart shaped pancakes, purple rice crispy treats, a party with their friends... I could go on and on!  We love them!!
I passed out Valentine's to my students as they packed their bags.  No one is too old for a crazy straw!  If you missed THIS post about my own kid's Valentines, you can snag a couple of downloads if you're interested for next year and see what my kids took to their friends!
We made it home from school and daycare pick up around 4:30.  I love, love, love getting to pick up my kids and hear about their day.  I do not always love the hour from 4:30 to 5:30--hungry kids, trying to get supper made, and everyone wants held.
My mom stopped over with some Valentine's Day loot though and Taylor and Trynlee LOVED the tubes filled with M&Ms.  They had no idea there was candy but just loved to shake them.  Trnylee was WOUND!
This may have been Treyton's favorite Valentine's score.  He also got a Paw Patrol fan/candy tube and was pretty excited about that.
I made their shirts a couple of weeks back and love how they turned out!  I used my Cricut and ordered my favorite Burt's Bees t-shirts.
I love when my girls coordinate but don't match exactly.
I bet I took 50 pictures of Taylor and this may have been about the best one I got.  It is probably the best description of her as well!
We may have taken the easy way out and got a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's and it may be a new family favorite Valentine's Day tradition.

My brother-in-law, Jamison and his girlfriend, Payton, also got the cookie dough with the Papa Murphy's special and decided to make one big cookie.  Jamison, in one week, has fed our kids ice cream almost daily and the girls even got some candy tonight.  What are uncles for, right?!

Around 7:30, we had jammies on the girls, they'd had their milk, and the wheels started falling off quickly! ;-) Everyone was in bed by 8!

Gavin and I watched a little Million Dollar Listing and called it a night around 9:30!  We had a pretty uneventful Valentine's Day and it was perfect!

I hope that you had a great day as well and happy Friday!  I will be back on Monday with a weekend recap!  Have a great weekend!
